Recipe- Stuffed Pretzels

I tried to duplicate the Spinach Feta Pretzel I like to order when I go to Starbucks.

Ingredients-
Store bought pizza dough
Creamed Spinach
Feta Cheese
Egg
Kosher Salt

  1. Preheat oven to 425*
  2. Put a large pan of water on the stove to boil.
  3. The dough must come to room temperature- at least two hours out of the fridge.
  4. Sprinkle surface with a little flour and roll out the dough.
  5. Spoon a little creamed spinach down the center. Crumble feta over the spinach.
  6. Roll up dough and pinch shut. Shape into pretzels.
  7. One at a time-Place pretzels into boiling water for 30 seconds to one minute.
  8. Remove with slotted spoon and place on greased cookie sheet.
  9. Beat egg. Brush egg on pretzel tops.
  10. Sprinkle with salt.
  11. Bake until browned- about 20 minutes.

They totally look like something the neighbor's dog leaves in our yard- but they tasted good.
The really brown bits are over cooked feta I sprinkled on before baking. I'll skip that next time.

Serve with mustard

how many pretzels can you expect to get out of one package of pizza dough???

Instead of sprinkling feta on top, try coarse salt, sesame seeds or Parmesan cheese.

I'm going to attempt this soon and was wondering about how wide you had to press the dough to fit in the spinach filling? Thanks!
