Thrifty finds

Three days in a row of Rummage sales! I've been on a shopping spree. I bought Tim a new trench coat ($5) , I thought he would just want the belt because the belt on his old one is frayed but he likes this coat better. I bought a new (old) tablecloth ($1) and new(old) kitchen curtains ($1).
Also- a huge bag of Halloween decorations ($2), a stack of videos (.25- $1), dozens of books, craft supplies, five glass bowls for making terrariums, eight little Pyrex bowls (.05 each), several drinking glasses (still without a dishwasher and it seems like I'm breaking a glass every other day), half dozen cassette tapes (.50 each), a few more Christmas ornaments (somebody stop me), a stack of sewing/knitting magazines from the 40's/50's ($1 for all) and much, much more.

Having a sleepover with a friend, stopping the ice cream truck, meeting friends at the library, renting video games, Going to a rummage sale, learning about Physics, making parachutes and dropping eggs off balconies at Homeschool 4H (they didn't break!!!),
Tim took a day off work today and started making arrows, with a little help from Griffin and Riley.

Riley has wanted dreadlocks for a long time now. The Easter Bunny put some Dredhead wax in his basket and we finally started the process yesterday. Hours and hours of rolling, waxing and backcombing later, we have a good start. It will take at least a couple more months before the hair "locks" or mats up into proper dreads. I think it already looks fantastic! I would totally do this with my own hair but I'm pretty sure matchy Mother/Son hairstyles is not every teenage boy's dream so I'll hold back- for now.
