Ringo Rules!!!

Ringo Starr and his All Starr Band!

Local readers who enjoy pickles and beans should check out this link.
Thanks to my friend Laura who told me about this!
We had a great time- Ringo looks and sounds fabulous.
His band included- Billy Squier and Colin Hay (lead singer from Men at Work)- who I really enjoyed- and Edgar Winter who really impressed Tim and the boys.
Ringo's 69th birthday is coming up and he wants us all to celebrate with him- link.
Peace and Love!

Our lawn seats- we only sat in them for a couple of songs before the rains came and we fled to the covered area. L to R- My Dad, his wife Linda, Griffin, Riley, Tim

I picked the squirrel........

.

Completely Random Wednesday-

We were having a little debate in the car a few days ago- Who would win in a fight between Grape Ape and Magilla Gorilla? John's response- Hong Kong Phooey could kick both their butts.
Discuss.

From someone's blog.......

The Banana Test

There is a very, very tall coconut tree and there are 4 animals:

a Lion

a Chimpanzee

a Giraffe

and a Squirrel who pass by.

They decide to compete to see who is the fastest to get a banana off the tree.
Who do you guess will win?

Lion = you're dull.

Chimpanzee = you're a moron.

Giraffe = you're a complete idiot.

Squirrel = you're just hopelessly stupid.

Keep going...

A COCONUT TREE DOESN'T HAVE BANANAS. Obviously you're stressed and overworked. You should take some time off and relax!

Hanging with the Flip Skate team!!!

From yesterday- Zumiez Couch Tour

We got autographs and photos with Bob Burnquist!

Happy Solstice

We all had a lovely Solstice on Saturday. Tim took Griffin and Riley to an archery event. I went to a garage sale, bought some flowers for my new planters, had my sister JoAnne over for scrapbooking, took some more flower pics and went to a Goddess only Solstice party at a friends house.
Love my new boots purchased at the garage sale (too bad my sister JoAnne is so jealous of them that she had to pretend to hate them)

Scrapbook layout of lunch in France- crepes from a stand near the Eiffel Tower.

Flower picture (for a change)

Solstice Cupcakes- my contribution to the party.

Recipe recomendation and more flower pics

From yesterday's episode of Thirty Minute Meals with Rachel Ray

Honey Nut Chicken
BBQ Succotash

Both very recommended- I didn't exactly follow the recipes (natch)
and it did take me longer than 30 minutes but I'll be making
this again!

After dinner- a bike ride with Riley (yes I spoke to him about wearing his helmet). I stopped to take pictures of the pretty (cactus or succulent?) flowers that are growing down the street from our house. I'll be putting more pics on flickr.

Crafting with Barbara

Today my sister Barbara came over with her kids and while the cousins went in the pool and played guitar together, we got to crafting. Barbara brought a bunch of planters that she found by the side of the road and some shells, beads and sea glass. I supplied the glue guns and chocolate covered strawberries (both equally essential to crafting imho).

Re- #22 Rupert the cat. He came with the house. He lives under our pool deck. The first day when we met him Tim said "Don't you feed that cat" now 8 years later,Tim lugs home 20 pound bags of cat food every month. Technically, he's the neighbors cat- but he doesn't get along with their dogs and never goes in their house. They do take him for shots and to the vets though. For a basically feral cat, Rupert has the greatest personality. He meows at our door for food- follows us when we work around the yard- loves to be petted. We would love to let him in our house but we are very allergic and Riley gets asthma. That's the story of Rupert.

Happy Birthday Tim!

Birthday dessert in the screen porch.

Sugar-Free Cheesecake with berries

I don't like the boys to have splenda so I made lemon cupcakes for them.

But the cat had the cheesecake.
